David Schiff

Mr. Schiff has an over 30-year career developing and investing in credit and real estate markets. He has a vast depth of knowledge, expertise and experience within special situations, growth equity, M&A, private credit and asset-based investments. He is known for his highly creative, disciplined and risk-sensitive approach to investing. Mr. Schiff is a founding partner of Innovatus Capital Partners, a New York-based registered investment adviser and portfolio management firm with over $1.6 billion in capital under management. Mr. Schiff is Chairman of the Innovatus investment committee for Innovatus Life Sciences. Along with senior team members, launched the Life Sciences strategy at Innovatus with over $1.4 billion of capital commitments to both public and private life sciences companies through direct origination.

Mr. Schiff serves on the Board of several portfolio investments including Samsara Vision, Inc., a company that has developed an implantable telescope for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration, Aktana, Inc., a company that offers a full product suite of solutions for brand strategy execution, personalized engagement, reporting and measurement of marketing initiatives for life sciences companies, and has overseen the minority interest in several life sciences companies, including Conformis, DNAnexus, Akoya Biosciences and Bio Genomics. From 2008 to 2016, Mr. Schiff was a Partner at Perella Weinberg Partners and was the Portfolio Manager of the Asset Backed Value Funds (“ABV”) that had approximately $2 billion of equity under management at the time of his departure. Mr. Schiff was a member of the investment committee for Life Sciences Alternative Funding, a life sciences lender founded by the ABV Strategy, where he evaluated investments in medical device lending and created a $120 million venture lending portfolio. Through Mr. Schiff’s and the Asset Based Value investment team’s leadership, over a dozen different operating businesses and joint ventures have been launched.

Previous roles include CEO/CIO of Broadworth Capital, an asset-backed focused investment vehicle for high net worth families, Amaranth Advisors, where he was responsible for the construction of its non-mortgage ABS portfolio, and Wachovia Securities- structured principal finance, including Royalty Pharma’s drug royalty investments. Mr. Schiff also held various senior management positions at JPMorgan in the Asset Backed Securities and Securitization groups.

Mr. Schiff received a B.S. with distinction in Consumer Economics and Housing from Cornell University (1993).
